Instructors were excellent and very informative and knew what they were teaching. Long course,after the course you have the practical then after that is the written. The lunch they gave you was fantastic the Italian sub was to die for and the price for the course and picture was also a very good price well worth it!

I kept debating between where I had to go to for obtaining my Firearms licence until I came across the Calgary Gun Licence School.I would highly recommend this school to anyone out there who wants to learn about weapons and their safe usage and the laws and regulations that are required to possess or use a weapon at a range or off a range.The instructors are friendly, knowledgeable ,professional, polite, assertive and very approachable.I will take other safety courses (at range) soon.Thank you!

A few of us did our PAL course here. The instructors were very knowledgeable, friendly, and it was clear they care about firearms. Their passion shows in their drive to help people not just pass the test, but truly understand and respect firearms, and get you acquainted with their safe use. If you are considering taking the PAL course, I highly recommend this place; we are happy with the amount of knowledge and experice we gained. Also there is free coffee ;)

This course was great and lots of fun, Orlando and Elisa were phenomenal instructors. The course is well set up, you will pass as long as you pay attention and become comfortable with the handling of firearms. I recommend doing this with a friend, as you will be partnered up once you get into the handling of firearms. This also takes place at a martial arts school/training academy, so you will have to take off your footwear once you enter. Also, they have a strict no-phone policy once you're inside the classroom, since it's an RCMP course, so I cannot stress this enough, just turn off your phone!! The course flies by, and before you know it, the day will be over. Non-restricted is timed for 8 hours, my class was about 10-11 hours because we had more students than expected. Restricted was timed for 4, but went on for about 6 hours. 2 other testers were actually sick, so that's why it took longer, but testing generally does take some more time, so make sure you don't have anything planned on the weekends. Make sure your entire day is dedicated to these courses! Orlando is incredibly knowledgeable with firearms and firearm safety, and definitely pay lots of attention to his lectures, he's been doing this for a very, very long time. He's a total badass. Elisa was spectacular at showing how to handle firearms, and ask her any questions or assistance you need when you get to that part of the course. Don't be nervous when it comes time to test. You will have plenty of time to practice with firearms before your practical tests. They do a very good job at keeping this course incredibly SIMPLE, so make sure you don't over think, and just keep things simple!! You will be doing a written and practical tests for both restricted and non-restricted. I highly recommend doing BOTH! I also recommend paying the extra fee to get your photo taken there, they have a photographer who comes in and takes your photo so it's all ready to get sent out when you receive it, and meets all the criteria for RCMP standards. It's all pretty self explanatory and common sense, just make sure you listen, pay attention, and participate, and the course isn't very difficult. Have fun and learn lots about firearms and firearm safety! I recommend this school to anyone.

I took both courses (non-restricted & restricted) with Orlando & Elisa. As a female taking the courses, Elisa really made me feel comfortable and is very helpful when teaching you about the proper handling and safety of the guns. I passed the handling with a very high mark and this is because Elisa was such a great instructor. Orlando is a pretty funny guy and teaches well for the written part of the exam. They are also really welcoming and offer coffee to the students. The way they teach the course is very direct and simple which is why it made it easier to learn. TAKE THE RESTRICTED COURSE AS WELL! I suggest you book now because the spots fill up quickly because they are great instructors!

I used firearms only once at a shooting range a long time ago. I finally decided to take the training(both courses). I was a little intimidated at first, but as the course progressed, I gained more knowledge and the confidence in safely handling different types of firearms. The instructors are very helpful and they take their time on every student to make sure he/she understand -- whether it was in theory or hands-on. I highly recommend taking your training with this school.

I took my PAL course here for non restricted & will certainly be returning for restricted as well in the future! The owner Orlando insures that the 8 hour, + testing, day is enjoyable the whole way through and takes his time with each student to make sure they are confident in understanding each module in textbook + practical aspect.They follow all guidelines set by Alberta concerning Covid, taking temperatures before class, use of masks, sanitizing the practice firearms inbetween hand offs, sanitizer available throughout the business, social distancing at tables, etc. If you are uneasy about taking your course due to the pandemic, I assure you that this wonderful family run business takes the extra step to insure your safety.Thank you Orlando + family for having such a comfortable, safe and enjoyable space for learning!

Took both courses with them, the instructors are very friendly, knowledgable and supportive. This is not your typical fire range. I got my license now and would definitly recomment learning from here about safety handling.

Wonderful experience with the training here! All the instructors here are highly trained and very knowledgeable. They also have their own private indoor gun range! I highly recommend Calgary Gun Licence School! I would also recommend taking both non restricted and restricted!Tip, you will find the actual name of this training center is called ITTA.
